Get Ready to Celebrate Latin American Culture at the Unidos en la Música Festival in St. Augustine!
Enjoy Live Entertainment
This remarkable celebration will feature a variety of Latin American music genres, including salsa, bachata, and vallenato. Take some time to stop by the main stage throughout the day and enjoy remarkable live performances. Performers will begin taking the stage at 10 a.m., and the party will continue into the afternoon and the evening, with the final act ending at 10 p.m. Unidos en la Música will showcase many musical performers, including Baba Caiman, Papayera Arenosa, plus the salsa legend Charlie Aponte and many more!
Take a Dance Workshop
Don’t hesitate to feel the rhythm of popular Latin American dances in your veins! Unidos en la Música will once again offer various dance workshops where you can learn to dance alongside other festival-goers. The best part? No experience is necessary! This year’s instructors are championship dancers Emily and Raul from the Salsa Kings and Romi and Alex from Alex Pro Dance. Don’t be shy, choose a salsa or bachata lesson, and dance the day away!
See Cultural Exhibitions
Another exciting way to immerse yourself in Latin America’s rich and long-standing history is to observe the festival’s featured cultural performances. Several local dance groups will take the main stage throughout the day, and each will enact dances native to countries such as Mexico, Peru, and Panama, among others. While you are watching these spectacular performances, take notice of the elaborate ensembles worn. Each one is unique and represents essential characteristics of each heritage.
Choose Your Favorite Mural
Take some time to cool off and watch art come to life at the mural competition. The special exhibition will include several artists, each of whom will create their masterpieces throughout the day. Once the murals are complete, you can vote for your favorite piece, and if you’re lucky, you may even take one home!
