Moonlight Kayak Tours

Experience Trout Creek by moonlight on one of these kayak tours led by county naturalists.
The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department is offering four moonlight kayak tours over the last weekend of August 2018. Led by county naturalists, the tours will depart from Trout Creek Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 23, 24, 25 and 26, 2018.
These tours give participants a chance to explore Trout Creek by moonlight, while learning all about the animals that are active at night. The cost of the tour is $30 per person ($20 for St. Johns County residents) for people bringing their own kayaks and $50 per person ($40 for SJC residents) for those who will be using a county kayak.

Admission:The price is $30 per person with personal kayak and $50 per person using a county kayak. St. Johns County residents save $10 off those prices.

Sunset and Full Moon Paddle on Salt Run
Sunday, August 26, 2018, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Anastasia State Park close to the St Augustine Lighthouse
Take a paddle along Anastasia State Park’s Salt Run and enjoy the view as the sun sets and the full moon rises.
- Anastasia State Park, in partnership with Anastasia Watersports, will host a Sunset and Full Moon Paddle on Salt Run on Sunday, August 26, 2018, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Participants can enjoy the amazing views of the sun setting and the moon rising above the estuarine marsh at Anastasia State Park. Multiple options for watercraft include single kayaks, tandem kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. Private boats are also welcome at a lower rate. In addition to the breathtaking views, this guided tour offers an interpretive, storytelling experience.
Admission: The program is $35 per person, which includes boat rental, lifejackets, and paddles. The fee is $20 per person for those who provide their own boat. Park admission rates also still apply: $8.00 per vehicle (limit 8 people), $4.00 per single-occupant vehicle, and $2.00 for pedestrians, bicyclists, and extra passengers.
