Best St Augustine Restaurants Just Outside Our Door

Michael’s Tasting Room was featured on The Food Network with Chef Emeril Lagasse during Florida’s 500th anniversary.

St. Augustine, Florida has much to offer all of our guests. Simply taking an evening stroll through the charming downtown streets during this special time of year brings a feeling to many that have them returning time and time again.

When recently asking our guests on our facebook page “What is your favorite thing about St. Augustine?” A common answer is “the restaurants” followed by “the evening sounds of the city”, which can be heard just outside our front door here at the Agustin.

Speaking of good restaurants, Agustin is proud to announce our partnership with our next door neighbor – Michael’s Tasting Room! Be sure to include dinner here when building an itinerary for your next stay!

During our upcoming Annual Bed and Breakfast Holiday Tour, Michael and staff will actually be onsite to serve a taste from his amazing establishment!

Our inn is officially on tour Sunday the second weekend in December from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and will be decorated to the hilt to immerse you in the holiday spirit! In addition to tour partnership, we are in the process of upgrading our package selection and are truly proud to announce evening dinner at Michael’s Tasting Room will soon be included in our most popular romance package! Michael’s Tasting Room is located on the scenic Calle Cuna, in the heart of Historic Downtown St.Augustine on the East side of the Agustin Inn. The building began as the Buchanti House that dates back to 1764, and was made famous by the Whitney Family of Marine Land, who refurbished the historic home for the city’s 400th anniversary. The building later spent time as Wheeler’s Christmas store until Chef Michael and his wife Stephanie converted the structure into a restaurant in 2006.

The restaurant has received many awards through the years including their most recent – The Open Table’s Diner’s Choice Award of 2016 and the prestige Trip Advisor’s Award of Excellence 2016!

The atmosphere here can be considered fine casual dining and the superior menu is Spanish Inspired and locally-rooted with small plate selections as well as entrees to satisfy the larger appetite. The wine list is simply incredible!

The dessert here is what you may remember well if you’ve had the pleasure of visiting before. We just peeked at the fall menu and it lists:  Cheesecake with Marcona almond crumble and dried fig-cherry compote, Espresso Brownie Bites with STA bourbon dulce de leche, berries, and peanut brittle and yes – The sought after Florida Key Lime Pie! Now that should really get your taste buds in crave mode!

The Agustin Inn has limited availability this time of year so be sure to get those reservations fast! Our location is simply the best! Leave your car parked for your entire stay and walk to everything nearby. Prepare to become immersed in St. Augustine’s magic and our spectacular Nights of Lights Celebration!
