National Parks Service personnel at the St Augustine Fort demonstrate the weapons and relate the experiences of the Colonial Spanish soldier stationed in St. Augustine in 1740′s. Demonstration times are 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.

Firing times are subject to change depending on weather conditions and staff availability. The Castillo de San Marcos, the oldest masonry fortification in the U.S., was built by the Spanish in 1672 to help protect their empire in the New World and has never been taken in battle.

Admission is $10 for adults- valid for 7 consecutive days. Children 15 and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult. Admission to the St. Augustine Fort is FREE this Veteran’s Day, November the 11th to honor all who have served in the military.

The Castillo is open 8:45 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. daily.
