St Augustine December Events Galore

Saturday, December, 5th

This is a favorite time of year for many in the nation’s oldest city when the events really start to take off! Beginning with the lighting of millions of tiny white lights around the historic area; officially named “Nights of Lights!” This happens at the end of November the Saturday prior to Thanksgiving, which brings us to plan for December right away!

61st Annual Christmas Parade and Military PAL Day

The first weekend of December the lineup is extensive beginning with our Annual Christmas Parade on December the 5th! The 61st Annual Christmas Parade is one of the largest in North Florida and includes floats, marching bands, cars, horses and the arrival of Santa himself!

The parade begins promptly at 10 a.m. by the Mission of Nombre De Dios, continues through the downtown streets of St. Augustine and ends behind the Visitor Center on Castillo Drive.

This same day the city honors ALL active, retired and Veteran military personnel and their families by offering FREE admission to nearly all the attractions and the trolleys; in addition, a FREE lunch is hosted by the Elks Lodge on Anastasia Island.

St. Augustine Winter Spectacular 

Experience the newest holiday production from the Dance Company in the nation’s oldest city! A family-friendly holiday production filled with high kick dancers, ballerinas, acrobats, and actors amidst dazzling costuming and props. Performances at the Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are sold online in advance for assigned seats and at the door. Visit for information.

Sunday, December 6th

47th Annual Garden Club Christmas Tour of the Homes

This annual tour showcases holiday decorations at a selection of St. Augustine’s most outstanding private homes. Enjoy a taste of nostalgia in the colorful and natural floral decorations and arrangements designed and hand crafted by members of The Garden Club of St. Augustine. In addition, a delightful tea is included in the ticket price. The tour takes place from noon-5 p.m. Tickets are 25.00 and should be purchased online in advance because of limited availability.
