Just when you thought the Seafood Festival was it! The next festival – Annual Celtic and St. Patrick’s Day Parade are both planned for this weekend, March the 11th through the 13th followed by another and another each weekend during the Spring season. The next one to be held involves Ribs and BBQ… hungry yet? Stay tuned…
The Annual Celtic Fest is one event locals and visitors look forward to more and more each year! The sounds of the ancient Celtic peoples of Scotland and Ireland will again come alive at Francis Field on Castillo Drive in St. Augustine, Florida!
Celtic clans from around the world will show their ancestral pride and Highland Games’ athletes are preparing to demonstrate their mind-boggling strength. At 10 a.m. on Saturday, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade marches through the streets of the Oldest City’s Historic District. Vendors offer up Celtic cuisine and hand-made crafts during the event each day. Scottish and Irish bands are due to play both traditional tunes and modernized renditions of the ancient Celtic music and appear live on stage throughout the two-day festival – including Albannach, Rathkeltair, Seven Nations, Poor Angus, Scuttered the Bruce and the Dublin City Ramblers — “Ireland’s Number 1 Best Ballad and Folk Group of the Year.” This lineup is arguably the best collaboration of Celtic artists assembled in the United States.
Festival hours are Friday, 7 – 9 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 general admission or VIP all-weekend tickets $55 each. 29 W. Castillo Dr., St. Augustine. 904-315-8061 http://www.celticstaugustine.com
