St Augustine Bed and Breakfast Brings Matcha To The Table

IMG_16921 (2)At the Agustin Inn we are always trying new and improved recipes for breakfast. Because breakfast is the meal we specialize in, our chef takes pride in serving guests something they may not otherwise have on an every-day basis!

Keeping the first meal of the day fun, nutritional and “special” is our expertise!

Pictured here is one of our signature dishes featuring parmesan-crusted baked chicken with herb garlic sauce, “matcha” waffle wedges garnished with fresh berries.

What is matcha you ask? It is a green tea but not just any old green tea!!!

We recently looked into matcha as many of our guests prefer a tea over coffee and we sought out to find the best tea there was! So far for the health benefits matcha was the best we could find!

This tea is literally a powerhouse of antioxidants!

Not a tea drinker? That’s also fine as much to our surprise we’ve found there are ways to still get a healthy dose of it in food! Lucky for us, the majority of recipes we found are breakfast dishes!

We discovered this website that lists some of these ways to power up your morning meal, and thought… waffle. Since our homemade Belgium waffles have always been a hit, we decided to add this amazing tea powder to our recipe!
