Find Entertainment During Spring Break in St Augustine
Spring Break in St Augustine is always a good time! The weather is just about perfect to do a number of activities! You may plan a day to sightsee, browse the downtown shops, head to the beach or check out some of our local events. Even on Sunday, we are open and ready to entertain! This Sunday we continue with our Annual Old Town Art Show and have our traditional Blessing of the Fleet, which can be viewed from our historic bayfront.
Don’t forget our local theatre. The Limelight Theatre does more than just theatre, they also showcase our local musicians and really put on a show at the end of the month! As promised here are more events that are within walking distance or short driving distance of the inn you may take part in before you head back home after an amazing weekend!
Old Town Art Show in St Augustine
The Old Town Art Show is being held Palm Sunday Weekend at Francis Field in historic downtown St. Augustine. Exceptional artists and craftsmen from around the country will gather for this wonderful event. From the contemporary to the traditional, there will be something for everyone and every budget. This is a juried event, which means only the best artwork in each category is selected. The event hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free. Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday Morning
This annual event dating back to St. Augustine’s earliest history, features watercraft of all types, decorated with flags and bunting. The vessels receive a special blessing from the Bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine. The ceremony begins at noon with a procession from the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine along the Plaza de la Constitución to the St. Augustine Municipal Marina. 904-824-9725 www.staugustineyachtclub.com
Last Sunday – Music in the Box at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre
On the last Sunday of the month, enjoy live music by some of the area’s best up-and-coming bands and musicians from 6-8 p.m. on stage at the Limelight Theatre. This month’s performance is by Kyra Livingston. She plays the guitar and piano. Admission is $5.
