Make a JailBreak for St Augustine October 29th

Whether you are a walker, a serious race enthusiast or just someone looking for a good time make your plans and get there!

The event were talking about is the 1st Annual Jailbreak 5k sponsored by St. Augustine Velofest!

This is an actual timed 3.1 mile race beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Old Jail in historic St. Augustine! If you think you have what it takes to make a break, you must do it!

Formerly the “Letsgetpedestrian 5k”, Velofest and Old Town Trolley Tours of St. Augustine proudly present “Jail Break 5k, Escape from St. Augustine”!

About the Race

Make your escape from the Authentic Old Jail during St. Augustine Halloween Weekend to the Atlantic Ocean!

Costumes are encouraged, full trolley system for spectators and participants, huge costume party after and bicycle rodeo after the race! Bring the family for an opportunity like no other in the historic City of St. Augustine.

All registrants receive a sought after Velo Fest T Shirt, post race beverage and snacks, certified USATF 5k, handcuffs, we mean finisher medal, and FUN! Runners will enjoy a 5k to the Atlantic Ocean facing a treacherous climb over the Vilano Bridge as they flee from the Authentic Old Jail! Velofest invites runners of all ages and abilities on Halloween Weekend to have some fun!

If running is not for you but simply dressing up in your best jailbird or sheriff costume, than by all means show up and show out! Their is also official O.O. Registration for the Costume Party with Velofest donation.

About VeloFest and Their Mission

According to the official Velofest website, each year in the State of Florida we experience more then 200,000 motor vehicle crashes where 5% involve bicycles or pedestrian road users. In an attempt to create significant change, VeloFest Community Initiative founded in 2011, produces events and education programs in St. Johns County and around Florida to heighten awareness. The official race starts at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29th from the Authentic Old Jail at 167 San Marco Avenue St. Augustine, Florida 32084. Other free parking and shuttle service will be available starting at 6:30 a.m. from two other satellite locations as well. Those are 1700 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd. and 1305 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd.
