The Best Places to Find Live Music in St. Augustine
St. Augustine Music Festival
The Nation’s Oldest City happens to also be the home to the largest free classical music festival in the United States, the St. Augustine Music Festival! Over six days, visitors will be able to enjoy six concerts that don’t require any admission. The shows take place at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, which is just a five-minutes walk from Agustin Inn.
Concerts in the Plaza and Music by the Sea
Both of these spectacular concerts series are annual highlights for St. Augustine residents. Both events feature free admission to the performances and are held at iconic St. Augustine landmarks. Concerts in the Plaza takes place every Thursday from late May until late August in the gazebo of the Plaza de la Constitución. Music by the Sea starts in early May and runs until mid-September. It’s held, rain or shine, near the St. Johns County Pier. Each event for Music by the Sea also features a local restaurant. You can purchase a dinner ticket for $10 (or less, depending on the restaurant!) and enjoy a delicious dinner with your helping of free live music.
Sing Out Loud
Say goodbye to summer with the Sing Out Loud Festival! Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in September will feature a new concert, most of which are free to attend! The series is presented by the St. Augustine Distillery and features one show to benefit the Horseplay Therapy Center and Green Hands Community Outreach Initiatives, both worthy causes.
Romanza Festivale of the Arts
The Romanza Festivale of the Arts celebrates everything “St. Augustine,” including our city’s heritage, art, cuisine, and (of course) music! Held in the first two weeks of May, this festival offers dozens of concerts, performances, and visual art displays.
Gamble Rogers Festival
If you’re a fan of folk music, the Gamble Rogers Festival is perfect for you. It’s held in early May and features the best folk musicians of today. The festival is named for the iconic storyteller and performer who called Florida “home.” Today, the concerts are held in Colonial Quarter. Purchase a weekend pass for $50 to get the most out of your stay!
