Beautiful by day and even more beautiful by night is the Villa Zorayda in St. Augustine's Historic District. The museum was once the residence of Franklin Waldo Smith and one preceding owner.
Experience 131 years of history by day here inside this beautiful building. The property has been completely renovated over the years and offers National Register Historic Site Audio-Guided Tours of its extensive antique collections from the Gilded Age. This amazing architectural masterpeice was built as a 1/10th scale replica of the Alahambra in Spain. The building is the oldest and first poured concrete building you will find here.
During the holidays this amazing beauty really shines! Experience the Zorayda at its best during their Annual Holiday Candlelight Tour.. A spectacular Christmas tree decorated in the colors of the Zorayda – red and gold – is located center stage in the Court of Lions inside the first floor of the museum. Over 100 candles are aglow throughout the entire building.
The tour starts at 6 p.m. and lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Admission of $15 for adults; Children 7 – 12 are $6. Children 4 – 6 are free.
